Begin to do this slowly to get the feel of the position before continuing to do more to strengthen the area. While you are resting, stretch out both your leg and torso to reduce stretching and create an ice bath effect of the tissue. You can do this exercise with or without the ice bath effects but I recommend a combination of both as there can be no doubt that using the ice bath or applying the ice may have the opposite effect. The Achilles Heel Technique is a lot easier to do than the Achilles Sheath Technique. Once you have practiced it and have found the rhythm you are going for, you can do it without the ice bath effect. This technique works on both forelimbs and hindlimbs so you can strengthen all parts of your body, especially strengthening your hip, back and legs, as well as shoulder, elbow and wrist in order to keep from losing any movement and prevent any pain.
